Shoretn — Terms of Service
Effective Date: {{ EFFECTIVE_DATE }}
Thank you for using Shoretn (“Shoretn,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our URL shortening and related services, websites, mobile apps, APIs, and tools (collectively, the “Service”).
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility and Accounts
- You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Service.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate, complete information and keep it up to date. We may refuse, close, or reclaim usernames or custom domains at our discretion.
2. The Shoretn Service
- URL Shortening & Redirects. The Service provides shortened links that redirect to third‑party destinations you specify. We are not responsible for the content of any destination or for third‑party websites.
- Link Management. You may create, edit, and delete links, tags, QR codes, and campaigns. Deleted links may persist in backups for a limited time.
- Custom Domains. If supported, you may connect a custom domain that you control. You are solely responsible for your DNS configuration, SSL/TLS, and domain renewal.
- Analytics. We may provide click and performance analytics. Metrics are estimates and may include sampling or filtering. Do not rely on analytics for precise accounting or legal purposes.
- APIs and Integrations. If you use our APIs, you must comply with these Terms and any API documentation or rate limits. We may revoke access for abuse or security concerns.
3. Acceptable Use; Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate laws or regulations, including copyright, trademark, or privacy laws.
- Distribute malware, spyware, adware, or engage in phishing, fraud, or deceptive practices.
- Link to content that is illegal, abusive, harassing, hateful, violent, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable.
- Facilitate spam or unsolicited communications.
- Interfere with the Service’s operation, bypass rate limits, test or probe without authorization, or reverse engineer components except to the extent permitted by law.
- Misrepresent your affiliation, impersonate others, or remove/obscure notices.
We may suspend or terminate accounts, links, or domains that violate these Terms or pose risk to users, us, or third parties.
4. Content Responsibility
- You control and are solely responsible for the content and destinations you link to (“Your Content”).
- You represent that you have all necessary rights to submit, publish, and share Your Content via the Service.
- We do not endorse, monitor, or control third‑party content. Redirects are provided “as is,” and you access destinations at your own risk.
5. Intellectual Property; License to Us
- We (and our licensors) own all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including software, user interfaces, design, and trademarks.
- By submitting Your Content through the Service, you grant us a non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free license to host, cache, transmit, display, and process Your Content solely as necessary to provide and improve the Service.
6. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and share information. By using the Service, you consent to our processing of information as described there.
7. Plans, Fees, and Payment (if applicable)
- Some features may require a paid plan or usage-based fees. Prices and features are subject to change with reasonable notice.
- You authorize us (and our payment processor) to charge your payment method for fees incurred. Late or failed payments may result in suspension.
- Except where required by law, fees are non‑refundable.
8. Fair Use; Rate Limits
- We may impose rate limits, quotas, or other technical restrictions to ensure Service stability.
- You agree not to exceed documented limits or use automation to circumvent them.
- We may throttle or suspend accounts that degrade Service performance.
9. Security
- Maintain the security of your account and API keys. Notify us immediately of unauthorized use or a suspected security incident.
- Do not publicly disclose vulnerabilities; report them responsibly to us. We may permit good‑faith testing under coordinated disclosure guidelines.
10. DMCA / Copyright Complaints
If you believe a link using our Service infringes your copyright, send a takedown notice to the contact listed below with: (a) your contact details, (b) identification of the copyrighted work, (c) identification of the allegedly infringing link(s), (d) a statement of good‑faith belief, and (e) a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you are authorized to act. We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing content and, where appropriate, terminate repeat infringers.
11. Third‑Party Services
The Service may integrate with third‑party services (e.g., analytics, payments, DNS). Your use of such services is subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third‑party services.
12. Changes to the Service
We may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time. If we make changes that materially reduce core functionality for paid users, we will provide reasonable notice.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate the Service or your access if you violate these Terms, create risk, or where required by law. Upon termination, the following sections survive: 3–6 and 8–19.
14. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON‑INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT LINKS OR ANALYTICS WILL BE ACCURATE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR ERROR‑FREE.
15. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL SHORETN OR ITS AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE SIX (6) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100.
16. Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Shoretn and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from or related to Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
17. Modifications to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice (e.g., by email, in‑app notice, or posting on our website). The revised Terms will be effective on the posted effective date. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
18. Governing Law; Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of {{ GOVERNING_LAW_JURISDICTION }} without regard to conflict of laws rules.
